New York Red Bulls Reclaim MLS Eastern Conference with 1-0 Win Over Kansas City

Happy times are here again! Winning 1-0 against the pesky Kansas City Wizards, the Red Bulls have clinched a playoff spot. With the victory and the Columbus Crew draw against the San Jose Earthquakes, the Red Bulls now sit atop of the Eastern Conference with three games remaining in the regular season.

Playing without Rafa Marquez (due to injury), the dynamic duo of Dane Richards and Bouna Coundoul led the way. Since losing to Real Salt Lake, the Red Bulls have gone 3-0-1 in their last four games while outscoring their opposition 8-3.

Morphing into a goal-scoring juggernaut, Dane Richards has clearly been the most aggressive offensive player. By scoring his fourth goal in five games in the sixth minute of the first half, Dane Richards clearly established the tone for his teammates. Playing with swagger, the Red Bulls maintained their intensity and never relinquished their lead.
