2010 FIFA World Cup: How the World Cup Affects Each MLS Team

With the preliminary roster for the U.S. Men's National Team being released earlier this week, nine Major League Soccer players were included. With training camp at Princeton beginning on Monday, six teams will lose USMNT players and two other teams will lose players (Andrew Boyens of New Zealand and New York Red Bulls, and Roger Espinoza of Honduras and Kansas City Wizards).

The biggest loss for any MLS team is obvious. The Los Angeles Galaxy are losing Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle. To show what a big part these two play, the Galaxy are promoting the game versus Toronto FC on Saturday as a send-off game.

The good news for the Galaxy is that they do have Alan Gordon. The 28-year old is experienced and is going to have to get the job done up front for the Galaxy in the goal scoring department. Mike Magee will also be looked to to but some balls in the back of the net.
