Bruce Arena's Los Angeles Galaxy, for what it's worth, can consider themselves a very lucky team.A disappointing performance offensively was counterbalanced by stoppage-time heroics from the unlikeliest of sources: Pat Noonan, who opened his scoring account and salvaged a 1-1 draw for the Galaxy against Schellas Hyndman's FC Dallas at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Here are six things we learned from this match. MLS: 5 Lessons Learned from the Revs’ Loss to the New York Red Bulls

Well, that didn't go too well.Despite losing Thierry Henry in the 23rd minute with a hamstring injury and Mehdi Ballouchy who seemed to pick up a knock later on in the game, and despite fielding a vastly inexperienced team, the New York Red Bulls hung onto Henry's 7th minute goal to win 1-0 at Red Bull Arena against the New England Revolution on Saturday.New England failed to score on rookie Ryan Meara and the makeshift back four that coach Hans Backe assembled before the game, even though the Revs dominated the second half. Here are some lessons we learned today after watching the Revs lose their third straight game.Begin Slideshow

6 Reasons Why the New England Revolution Will Beat the New York Red Bulls

The New England Revolution, despite the hiring of young, energetic Jay Heaps to replace Steve Nicol and a multitude of offseason signings, are off to another shaky start. They sit in eighth place in a weak Eastern Conference at 2-4 and are coming off a loss to second-place D.C. United. On top of this, they are heading to New York to play the Red Bulls, who are always a dangerous side. How can a team that consists of deadly strike duo Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper not be dangerous?Despite this, I think the Revs can pull off an upset on Saturday at the Red Bull Arena. Here are some reasons why.Begin Slideshow

MLS Preview: 4 Matches to Watch in Week 8

I'll be honest, Week 8 of Major League Soccer lacks a bit of a punch since there are very few marquee matches, and the top team in the league, Sporting Kansas City, has a bye week. That being said, there are nine matches scheduled for Saturday, with all but two taking place in the evening. With that much soccer in compressed time, there is no way that anyone can be able to see all of the leagues matches this weekend. So here I am to give you which four matches I recommend you do not miss. Begin Slideshow

Los Angeles Galaxy: Ins and Outs for April 25, 2012

Galaxy Beat Blues Again at Home Depot CenterIn a match that featured fringe players, Bruce Arena's Los Angeles Galaxy were engaged in a dogfight with Charlie Naimo's Los Angeles Blues of the USL on Tuesday.Despite an improved performance from the Blues, the Galaxy still prevailed 3-2 at the Home Depot Center. Adam Cristman opened the scoring in the 26th minute thanks to a delivery from Chad Barrett, who also scored a goal of his own in the 48th minute of play. Hector Jimenez's 67th-minute goal would prove to be the game winner, as the Galaxy were forced to withstand a brace from Carlos Borja in the 70th and 86th minutes of play. Back on the pitch for the Galaxy was Leonardo, the young Brazilian defender whose injury last year sidelined him for several months. Leonardo came on in the 40th minute of play. “Psychologically it’s great for him,” LA Galaxy Reserve Team Head Coach Curt Onalfo told reporters. “It’s been a long road and he’s really making progress. It was good to see him for 10 minutes.” “It was 10 very important minutes,” Leonardo said. “I need more ...
